60 year old records broken: Yogi Adityanath becomes UP’s longest tenure CM

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has created a new history. He has now become the longest Chief Minister’s leader in the state. He has left behind the record of the first Chief Minister of the state Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant in this matter. Till now Yogi Adityanath has served as Chief Minister for 8 years and 132 days, while Govind Ballabh Pant had done this responsibility for a total of 8 years and 127 days (before and after independence).

The oath was taken as Chief Minister on 19 March 2017
According to the information received, Yogi Adityanath was sworn in as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for the first time on 19 March 2017. Then in the 2022 assembly elections, the BJP again got a majority and became the Chief Minister for the second consecutive time. He is the first Chief Minister to take over the CM post again after completing the entire term in UP.

Yogi Adityanath’s political journey
Yogi Adityanath is the 22nd Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He is a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and is also the Mahant (Chief Priest) of Gorakhnath Math. He won the Lok Sabha elections from Gorakhpur at the age of just 26 in 1998 and reached Parliament. He was elected MP from Gorakhpur for five consecutive times.

From 2017 election to CM
Yogi Adityanath was one of the most popular and popular faces of BJP in the 2017 assembly elections. The party got an overwhelming majority in the election and was elected Chief Minister. After this, the BJP once again won in 2022 and he became the Chief Minister again.
Now next election in 2027
The next assembly election in Uttar Pradesh will be held in 2027. If Yogi Adityanath remains the Chief Minister by then, his term will be even longer and it will be stronger.
