Just should be Sanatani Hindu: Yogi government arguments in Supreme Court regarding Banke Bihari temple

New Delhi.
The Yogi Adityanath government of UP has agreed on the committee constituted by the Supreme Court for the management of Banke Bihari temple. Along with this, the UP government has also demanded that retired judges who lead this committee should be Sanatani Hindus. This means that the one who believes in any other creed or religion will not be accepted as the head of the committee. This committee will manage the temple until the ordinance brought by the UP government for the construction of corridor in the temple and other facilities by the Allahabad High Court.

Additional Solicitor General KM Natraj, appearing by the UP government, has told the bench of Justice Suryakant and Justice Jayamala Bagchi that we have no objection to the formation of the interim committee. The Supreme Court proposes that a retired judge of the High Court should be made the head of the committee. On this, the UP government says that we have accepted all the conditions, but the head of the panel should be made to the same person who is a Hindu by faith. The head of this committee will have the responsibility of the administration of the temple. Apart from this, he will also be able to manage the fund of the temple and allow it to spend it on its development.

The Yogi Adityanath government has proposed to build the Banke Bihari Corridor for the temple. For this, funding will be done by the government. Apart from this, preparations are also made to take half from the temple trust. The ordinance has been brought for this and the temple administration has challenged it. At the same time, the UP government says that a similar policy was followed to build the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor. Now in this case, the Supreme Court has spoken about the interim committee, which will work till the decision on the validity of the ordinance. On this, the government said that we are ready for the committee, but its head should be such a person who is a Sanatani Hindu himself. This is so that the dignity and purity of Shri Banke Bihari Ji Maharaj can remain.
