After this, even after the NDA government was formed in 2024, he held this post. After Advani on this post, Congress veteran Govind Vallabh Pant has been the longest. While Advani served as Home Minister from 19 March 1998 to 22 May 2004 as Home Minister. At the same time, Pant held this post from 10 January 1955 to 7 March 1961.
