Symbex practice: Navy of India-Singapore created history, joint strength shown in SCS

The Indian Navy and the Republic of Singapore (RSN) conducted the annual Singapore-India maritime bilateral exercise (Simbex) from July 28 to August 1. The Ministry of Defense said here that as part of the practice, the coastal phase was held at the first RSS Singapore-Chandra naval base and then at the southern end of the South China Sea (SCS). He said that both naval vessels and the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) were involved in the sea phase. RSN deployed the ‘Formidable’ (Current) category frigate ‘RSS Supreme’ and ‘Victory’ (victorious) category missile warship ‘RSS Vigilance’ (MV Mentor).

The Indian Navy participated in practice with the Shivalik category frigate INS Satpura. An S70B naval helicopter of RSAF, two Phokar-50 sea patrol aircraft and two F-15 SG fighter aircraft also joined the exercise. The successful event of Symbex 2025 underlines a permanent partnership between the Indian Navy and the RSN. RSS Commanding Officer Supreme Lieutenant Colonel Aaron Koh said, “Symbex is a proof of long -term bilateral relations between the Navy and the Indian Navy of the Republic of Singapore.

This practice has been working as a valuable platform for generations of naval personnel towards enhancing campaign skills, increasing mutual understanding and creating a permanent relationship between people. ” Symbex was first organized in 1994. This year was the 32nd edition of this exercise.
