NSUI State President Udit Pradhan has been suspended from the post of president. NSUI National President Varun Chaudhuri has given this information through a press conference.
Chaudhary has said that after receiving a complaint of rape against Pradhan, he has been suspended from the post of president with immediate effect. It is noteworthy here that after the complaint of the victim, Udit Pradhan has been arrested by the Mancheshwar police station in Bhubaneswar.
According to the victim’s complaint, on the afternoon of March 18 this year, she went to the Master Canteen Square to roam with a friend and a classmate. There, the classmate introduced Udit Pradhan to him. He then went to a hotel in Nayapalli in Udit’s car. During this time he consumed alcohol in the hotel. But the victim refused to drink alcohol.
Udit then asked him to drink soft drinks. He cleverly added some intoxication to it and gave it to drink. Shortly after drinking soft drinks, his head turned around. So he immediately asked to leave the house. But Udit and other people did not let him go. After this she fainted. By the time he regained his senses, he saw that Udit had done something bad with him.
He later came to know that Udit raped her. Udit threatened him when he asked about this. He said that if he complained, he would have to face serious consequences. The FIR states that the victim was scared and was forced to remain silent, as Udit was a student leader. Manch a Mancheshwar police arrested Udit at night after a complaint of rape.
The police have imposed 5 serious times against the accused student leader on the basis of Justice Code 2023. This includes 64 (1)- forcibly taking property, 123- rape, 296-raping, raping, raping 74- Trying to destroy the crime or try to destroy evidence, 351 (2)- Women’s violence and inhuman offense include serious times, under which the police have registered a case.
