It is necessary to improve old water sources and plant saplings only then will enough water for the upcoming generation: Minister Patel

Panchayat and Rural Development, Labor Minister Shri Prahlad Singh Patel attended the program organized under the Jal Ganga Promotion Abhiyan in Gopitii of Lateri tehsil of Vidisha district on Saturday. He worshiped the program with a lamp lighting and wreath by worshiping at the origin of Sindh and Sagra river.

Minister Shri Patel thanked Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, saying that he has run the implementation period of the Jal Ganga enrichment campaign for 3 months this year for the purpose of grooming and renovating water sources and reviewing them for 3 months, which is admirable towards water conservation.

Minister Shri Patel said that this year I have inspected a total of 79 origin sites of the state. Today we need to be aware to groom water sources and ensure the availability of water to the upcoming generation. Appealing to the citizens, he said that through the water Ganga enhancement campaign, the old water sources are being groomed, revived and new construction works, so that adequate amount of water can be availed to the upcoming generation. The minister said that water sources will have to be worried as well as our responsibility to keep them alive. The reason for the water sources in rural areas in the last few years need to be ended and they need to be revived.

Minister Shri Patel said that the principle of water Ganga enhancement campaign is to prepare new sources and also groan the old water sources. In the present situation, the water level of the earth is going down, so we have to decorate the water sources. He said that big rivers will be formed when we make small rivers perennial. He also laid special emphasis on plantation. He said that we also need to plant saplings along with water conservation, so we have to plant saplings as well as they have to do the work of conservation till they become a tree. If we work continuously for five to seven years, then we will definitely be able to prepare water sources and our upcoming generation will be able to provide sufficient amount of water and in the coming years a situation like water crisis will not be created.

Minister Shri Patel also referred to the works being done for the Parashari river of Basoda towards water conservation. He said that work up to 5 kilometers is being done in the Parashari river, which will ensure the availability of drinking water on a large scale for the area. Public representatives, officers, employees and citizens were present in the program.
