Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla said that the government is encouraging all possible innovation and technical cooperation to strengthen health services in the state. Concert efforts are being made at all levels under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav to embodiment the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s healthy India. Deputy Chief Minister Shukla was discussing the health services of infants with the delegation of Trivitron Healthcare in the Ministry.
The delegation proposed a proposal to establish a new bourne screening lab to identify and timely treatment of conjunctive metabolic disorder among newborns in the state. With the establishment of this laboratory, severe genetic disorders will be identified in infants within a few days of birth, so that treatment will be possible in time. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that such innovations are very important for the protection of the health of newborns. He said that the government gives priority to scientific approaches and public interest techniques. This proposal will be positively considered after the necessary testing by the Health Department.
Representatives reported that the screening lab will identify four major genetic disorders conjunctival hypothyroidism, conjugal adrenal hyperplasia, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency and galactochemia. He informed that this service is already being effectively operated in Kerala by Trivitron Healthcare. Along with this, he also shared information about the successful experiments and results of this technology in other countries of the world.
