According to officials, an army team was patrolling close to the Line of Control in Akhnoor sector. Meanwhile, the terrorists blasted the IED. Three soldiers came in its grip. As soon as the information was received, the additional army force reached the spot and conducted a search operation for the terrorists by taking the injured soldiers to the hospital. Initial information has shown that the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion, which is believed to be imposed by suspected militants. Officials said that the entire area has been sieged soon after the explosion.

During the search operation in Karnah area near the Line of Control in Kupwara district, security forces recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition on Monday. Officials said that after receiving information about the presence of arms and ammunition in the area, a joint team of army and police conducted a search operation in Badi Mohalla Amrohi of Karni Tehsil. During the search operation, security forces recovered an AK 47 rifle, an AK magazine, one Saga MK Rifle, a Saiga MK magazine and 12 rounds.
