In Maharashtra, coastal Konkan and Mumbai have been receiving heavy pre-monsoon rains for the last two days. Generally, the south-west monsoon makes its debut in Kerala until 1 June and covers the entire country by 8 July. It begins to retreat from northwest India around 17 September and goes back completely by 15 October. It usually reaches Maharashtra around 7 June and Mumbai on 11 June.
