Korba
The accident occurred at the power plant located in Patdhi village of Korba. While welding the pipeline here, a laborer Satish Shandilya (30) died. There is a lot of anger among the people after the death of the laborer. Security and administration are being questioned. It is alleged that there is a lack of security in the plant and laborers are employed without safety gear and training.
The workers allege that there is a shortage of security in the plant, without safety gear and training is being done. The safety of laborers is being ignored in profit race. The police have recorded the statements of the deceased’s family and fellow laborers.
Pooni Ram, the elder brother of the deceased Satish Kumar, said that he is originally from Kapan. He had been working for the last 6 months. His friends on the phone told him that Satish was buried to the hospital. He had died when he came and saw it. Satish used to do welding work and was welding the pipeline in the plant. During this time, he was buried by the soil. And he died.
