The government has approved the recruitment of more than 700 personnel to the Central Industrial Force (CISF) to increase the security of Common Central Secretariat (CCS). The first CCS building has been inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, (August 06, 2025). According to official sources, the Central Government Building Safety (CGBS) unit of CISF will protect all 10 CCS buildings. This unit works under the Ministry of Home Affairs. The CISF wing protects all the existing central government ministries and its associated departments in the country’s capital.
Approval for appointment of 735 additional personnel
Sources said that the Ministry of Home Affairs has recently approved the appointment of 735 additional personnel for the CGBS unit. These workers will protect building number 1, 2 and 3. He informed that as the CCS building starts, the unit will need more human resources and it is expected that it will be made available soon.
How much will the unit capacity be done
The CGBS unit will have a capacity of about 5 thousand personnel with new human resources. Sources also said that the unit has also been approved by about 200 additional personnel for the protection of the expansion office of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) at Talkatora Stadium and Sushma Swaraj Bhavan at Chanakyapuri.
Construction of CCS building numbers 1 and 2 is expected to be completed by next month, while the construction of CCS 10 will be completed by April next year. The project of CCS building number 6 and 7 will be completed by October 2026. The office of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Rural Development, MSME, Personnel and Training Department, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Principal Scientific Advisor is located in Duty Bhawan-03.
