7 killed due to falling temple wall in Jaitpur, Delhi, big accident

There was a stir in Hari Nagar of Jaitpur, the south-eastern area of Delhi today. The wall of an old temple suddenly collapsed here. 8 people were buried down due to falling part of the wall, out of which 7 people have died. It consists of four people from the same family. A total of 8 people were badly injured in this accident, 7 of whom have died so far. One is undergoing treatment. According to the locals, the sound of the accident was so loud that people came to panic in nearby houses. Firefighters are busy in removing people trapped in the debris and controlling the situation. No casualties are reported yet, but rescue work is in full swing.

Additional DCP South East Aishwarya Sharma said on the incident of wall collapse in Hari Nagar, ‘There is an old temple here and there are old slums next to it where the junk lives. The wall collapsed due to heavy rains throughout the night. 8 people were trapped, who were rescued and taken to the hospital. He is undergoing treatment. We do not know how many people have died, but according to us, 3-4 people are seriously injured, who may not survive. We have now evacuated these slums so that there is no such incident in future.

According to preliminary information, the building was old and probably due to lack of maintenance or flaws in construction. The administration has ordered an inquiry, and the locals are angry that no steps were already taken to prevent such incidents.

Teams of fire department and police are handling the situation on the spot. The surrounding areas are being evacuated so that there is no more danger. This accident once again questions the safety of old buildings in Delhi.
